REEVES COUNTY HOSPITAL DISTRICT

Reeves County Hospital District (RCHD) is currently seeking a Controller to serve their facility. Located in Pecos, Texas, RCHD is a small, rural community hospital providing acute care to service the needs of the residents in Reeves County and the surrounding areas. The 25-bed facility is accredited by Medicare and provides inpatient, outpatient and ICU services, and is designated as a Critical Access Hospital with a Level IV Trauma Department.
Some of the services RCHD provides are: Clinical Laboratory; Emergency Department with a Level IV Trauma designation, transfer ambulance services and air ambulance support; Radiology and Imaging Services Department including CAT Scan, Ultrasound, 3D Mammography, and Diagnostic Radiography; Dialysis Center; General Med/Surg Units, Nutritional Services, Obstetrical Services, Physical Therapy Services; Respiratory Therapy Services; Rural Health Clinic (Pecos Valley Rural Health Clinic); Home Health and Hospice; and The Specialty Clinics that provide services in Cardiology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and Audiology.
The Controller will report to and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and be responsible for general accounting functions (General Accounting, Revenue Accounting and Cash Accounting) and oversee the Business Office, Registration and HIM departments. S/he will maintain the existing accounting systems, assist in the evaluation and implementation of new systems, and special projects as directed. The position requires an individual who is enthusiastic; self-motivated; works well with others; multi-tasks and willing to accept new challenges as they arise.
The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; ten plus (10+) years of experience in hospital/healthcare general accounting including some supervisory/personnel management experience. The candidate must have exemplary communication, excellent interpersonal skills, be proficient in business office equipment and computers. Knowledge of CPSI is a plus.
Pecos, Texas is the largest city in and the county seat of Reeves County, Texas. Reeves County topography varies from flat in the northern and central parts to mountainous in the southern part, and contains some 2,626 square miles. It is bordered on the southwest by Jeff Davis County, on the southeast by Pecos County, on the west by Culberson County, and on the northeast by Loving and Ward Counties. The Pecos River forms this northeast boundary. The elevation ranges from 2,400 to 5,000 feet above sea level. Situated in the river valley on the west bank of the Pecos River near the southern border of New Mexico, Pecos has an estimated population of 9,666 (2016 Texas Association of Counties) with 14,921 estimated in Reeves County itself. Pecos is located on Interstate 20, approximately 98 miles west of Midland, Texas and 86 miles south of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
